If you are heading out into the countryside or the coast this weekend, linger until dusk and you’ll be in with a chance of seeing one of the best wildlife spectacles in the UK.
Starling murmurations are beautiful at this time of year as the birds take to the skies, swirling and whirling in their thousands. These black clouds of birds survey the area for predators before they come into roost, taking advantage of safety in numbers. Starlings have exceptional reaction times, allowing them to change direction in a split second, which prevents collisions.
