Situated off the Northumberland coast, Coquet Island is a vibrant seabird sanctuary which is home to the UK’s only Roseate Tern breeding colony. It is also an important site for nesting puffins and common, Sandwich and Arctic terns.
The RSPB is hoping to attract more nesting Roseate Terns by creating a new terrace and installing 100 new nest boxes.
This year, they are giving the public an even greater insight into life on Coquet Island by having four live camera feeds. New for 2022, they have added a live feed from a puffin nest. Through the camera you can see both the parents taking turns to sit on their egg.
