The Halkyn team is excited to announce that they are going to be fund raising for the charity, Mind, in order to support mens mental health within the construction industry.
Phillipa O’Leary, Quarry Manager, explains: “Here at Halkyn quarry we want to encourage our employees to talk about their mental health.
The construction industry has the highest suicide rate out of all industries, and we want to make sure our employees feel supported, that they feel confident asking for help, and most importantly they feel like there’s always someone to talk to no matter what the problem.
Each week, beginning 11th May, for the next six weeks we’ll be taking time out from our working schedule and going on a boundary walk around the quarry. This will be an hour away from the work environment where people can connect to each other and speak about what is going on in their lives outside of work.
