Aggs Logistics Safety Days Keep On Rolling!

Aggregate Logistics continue to roll out their annual Haulier Safety Leadership days across the regions. The Scotland event at Uddingston on Wednesday 9th December attracted a great turn out of the sub contract community across all transport functions including Aggregates, Asphalt, Cement and Building Products, and covering over 80% of our Supply Chain haulier audience.

Quotes from some of the attendees:

  • FORS requirements and benefits – I now know where to get the info, what approach I need, how I achieve it and who can support me.
  • Great to see what CEMEX are doing internally and the messages they are cascading to their workforce and contractors on Stepping In, Driver Health and Rollover Prevention – the video presentations complimented this strategy.
  • First Class – the amount of work, focus and input from the Logistics Team has contributed immensely to our Health and Safety standards and continues to significantly support our target of Zero injuries.
  • There have been great strides in this field by CEMEX who lead the way.

The event was led by Ronnie Simpson, supported by Les Grabarz, Ian Phoenix, and Carl Milton, and also included support from our Scotland Health and Safety Team thanks to Dougie Hunter.

The main topics covered this year included CEMEX UK safety performance, latest safety alerts and videos, vulnerable road user campaign, fleet operator best practice and recognition, new vehicle design (Econic truck), vehicle roll over prevention campaign and driver health and wellbeing.

These industry leading events are key to engagement with our key haulage providers and lead the way in continuous improvement and compliance in the important field of road transport safety.
