David Harrison, who works in Ash Operations at the Drax site, has won an award for submitting the best bright idea for 2014. David implemented a new winch and lift at the Drax site to allow for the safe transportation of ash sample buckets from the classifier building to the ground floor. This eliminated the need to regularly carry heavy buckets up and down an external set of stairs.
In the picture David is shown receiving his award from Ash Operations Director, Laurence Dagley, who commented: “During 2014 we received many excellent bright ideas from our workforce. David’s idea was chosen as it was fully implemented by our Drax Team, leading to a valuable safety improvement.”
