Aggregate Logistics Contract Haulage Team continue to roll out their safety initiatives with the inaugural Driver Partnership Forum held at Uddingston on Friday 24th March. It attracted a great turn out of sub-contractor Driver representatives – nominated Drivers of our contract hauliers regarded as key safety advocates of their companies. Coverage was across all transport functions including Aggregates, Asphalt, Cement and Building Products, and covering over 80% of our Supply Chain haulier capacity in the region.
The session was led by Ronnie Simpson, and covered all aspects of safety on our sites seen from the Drivers viewpoints, and included driving requirements, compliance, seat belts, recent site improvements, incident trending and recent Safety Briefs. The main aim was to engage with the Drivers and gather positive feedback, intervention, suggestions and agreed action plans on improvement.
These industry leading events are key to engagement with our key haulage providers and lead the way in continuous improvement and compliance in the important field of road transport safety. Thanks go to JW Morrison, JBP, Taylor Morrison, Basil Baird, AR Burnett and A Johnstone for organising the Drivers attendance on the day.
