Well done to the team at Crawley for helping to improve H&S as part of a joint effort between Network Rail, CEMEX, Aggregates Industries and Days to raise the standards in a multi-use shared terminal.
CEMEX upgraded their track and BDU (Bottom Discharge Unit) while Network Rail also upgraded track and installed new marked, yellow walking routes at the terminal greatly reducing the risk of slips trips and falls. AI and Days also improved their track and storage bays preventing spillage onto the track. This is a shared yard between us and the other businesses and rail operators and had been highlighted as a ‘hotspot’ for potential accidents as part of the National Freight Safety Improvement Plan, which allocates money for safety improvements at sites.
This is another example of a H&S improvement being made regularly at our sites – we would love to see any you have made at your location!
