The LDPUK Geological Services team and Operations at Raynes quarry in North Wales have recently commissioned some preventative health & safety works on the site to stop boulders and rocks potentially falling from the tunnel portal, which is frequently used by mobile plant. This goes underneath the A55 highway which runs alongside the site.

The project involved complex engineering works to fix metal meshing to the rockface, with engineers using climbing equipment to access parts of the tunnel to complete the work.
