Just Don’t Do It…. Ever

Did you know?  Texting while driving is illegal.

  • The penalties for holding and using your phone whilst driving have increased to six points and a £200 fine
  • You can be taken to court, banned from driving and fined up to £1,000
  • Or £2,500 if you’re driving a lorry or bus
  • And that’s not all – you can lose your job!

Texting whilst driving has devastating consequences. The number of people killed in accidents rose by 60% where a mobile phone was a factor, according to Research from the Department of Transport.

Be phone smart and put your phone away when you are driving. This week, during National Road Safety Week, we’d like to encourage you to reflect on your driving, and that of your friends, family and colleagues.

Through the link below you can find a series of materials that can be shared in team briefings and meetings – please do share details and photos of these sessions on Yammer so we can all support each other with this important campaign: https://bit.ly/2qel2lR
