A big part of eating healthily is shopping healthily. To do that you need to be food label aware. Always read the nutrition labels on the food you buy so you know what you are putting into your body.
Avoid high sugar content food (4g of sugar is the equivalent of a teaspoon of sugar), avoid highly processed foods and know your marketing phrases!
Chocolate flavour is not the same as chocolate and is highly likely to have more e-numbers and artificial ingredients.
Top tips:
- Buy fresh food – fruit and veg, unprocessed meat.
- Try and avoid processed foods (lots of e-numbers on a label, preservatives and long expiry dates).
- Go low sugar – less than 2g if you can (<2g on a label) over 10g is HIGH so avoid.
- Keep a track on your daily intake – know how much you are eating even those sneaky snacks which do count!
