The latest Safety Alert details a high potential incident where eight of the 12 mounting bolts securing a mixer truck drum were found to be missing. If the drum had broken free while the mixer truck was travelling on the highway, it had the potential to result in a very serious incident.

The Alert reminds us of the importance of effective pre-use checks, backed up with regular / robust inspection and defect reporting schemes in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations.
