Since the latter part of 2023 we have seen a gradual rise in the frequency of our more serious injuries across the UK, which is causing increasing concern.

While it was fortunate there were no injuries in the latest two Safety Alerts, they are a clear illustration of how our behaviours can put our safety at risk.

Undoubtedly everyone is aware of the need to STOP & THINK (Take 5) before starting a new task, and to follow our Safety Essentials, including the number 1 Essential, Look after Yourself, Look after Each Other.

When reviewing these Alerts with your teams you may want to ask what more we need to do to ensure everyone puts their health and safety first, always, and whether they would have Stepped In to keep their colleagues safe.
