Latest Safety Alert – Contractor Hand Injury

The latest Safety Alert relates to an incident on one of our sites where a contractor unfortunately sustained a hand injury while commissioning a jib crane. The incident occurred when the Engineer’s hand was trapped by the hoist trolley, resulting in a wound to his index finger that required stitches.  Effective planning, pre-job risk assessment and improved communication between the two contractors involved would have helped reduce the risk of injury.
