While there were no lost time injuries (LTIs) or recordable injuries (TRIs) last week involving employees, a contractor on a construction project in Cement Operations broke a bone in his thumb when he hit it with a lump hammer as he knocked a road forming pin into the ground.  As a result, the contractor was unable to do his full range of duties.

The incident has been added to the report as a Restricted Work Injury and included in the Total Recordable Injuries (TRIs).  An investigation is underway which will consider if there was an alternative, more suitable method of work.
