The recent Health & Safety Report highlighted the tragic case of a young lady who committed suicide at one of our Quarries.  She was a member of the public and a sad reminder of the importance of looking out for our own and each other’s mental health and wellbeing.

The incident also highlights the importance of ensuring site boundaries and danger areas are suitably protected with fencing/hedgerows and signage as appropriate to deter trespassers; these control measures should be included in inspection and maintenance regimes.
