New Chair for UK Health & Safety Committee

Lex Russell, Managing Director of UK Materials, is the new Chair of the UK Health and Safety Committee.

This committee meets monthly and involves the employee reps on a quarterly basis. It is made up of the senior leadership team plus employee representatives from across the business.

The purpose of the committee is to:

  • Provide effective corporate governance, monitoring health and safety performance and compliance with the UK Health & Safety Policy.
  • Review any incidents, ensuring thorough investigation and sharing of learning points.
  • Study forward-looking key performance indicators and good practices to help develop the UK Health & Safety strategy.
  • Monitor progress against the Annual Health & Safety Improvement Plan and evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing initiatives.
  • Ensure effective consultation regarding new initiatives.
  • Develop implementation plans for the EMEA common Health & Safety initiatives.
  • Promote general health and wellbeing, including supporting the work of the new Wellbeing Strategy Group.
  • Consider how we continue to develop our Health & Safety culture, ensuring we look after ourselves and each other, in our pursuit of Zero4Life injury free performance.
