Health & Safety

Regional Safety Time Out

As we arrive at the summer holiday period, with over half the year now behind us, we would like to take the opportunity to thank all UK employees for their contribution to our improving Health & Safety performance across the region. Every single person plays an important role in ensuring that we all go home to our families safely each day, and this is reflected in the many LTI and TRI free milestones we have already celebrated in 2022 (read more here).

However, it is vital that none of us get complacent, particularly as we continue to work throughout the summer period, which has seen a peak in injuries in recent years. Additionally, while our injury statistics have improved, we have experienced a number of high potential incidents in recent months where it was only by chance we avoided serious injury; these remind us of the need for constant vigilance when it comes to looking after ourselves and each other.

To help us all continue to keep Health & Safety at the forefront of our minds, a Time Out briefing document has been prepared.  It can be found in the download of the UK News website:  Regional Time Out Safety briefing document (785 downloads)

We ask all Managers and Supervisors to share and discuss this with your teams.

Remember to continue to follow the Safety Essentials, taking the time to STOP & THINK before starting a new task and STEP IN if you see anything you think may be unsafe. Don’t forget to report any risks or hazards spotted on site too, via NM/HA cards or the INTELEX system.
