Safe Quarry Awareness Video

The MPA is committed to sharing critical information, including safety alerts, guidance and good practice from across the industry with as many organisations and individuals as possible. Safequarry.com, the free to access website that is the health and safety hub for the mineral products sector, epitomises this philosophy in action.

A new 2-minute video has been produced to further raise awareness of Safequarry.com and encourage potential users to visit the website and share it with others. It is aimed at owners, senior managers, health and safety specialists, site managers and supervisors working within industry.

Safequarry provides a central database of health and safety resources that are relevant to all the product sectors operating within the mineral products industry. Sections of Safequarry include:

  • Key industry guidance and toolbox talks that can be either product specific or relevant to all sectors of the mineral products industry.
  • Award winning examples of good practice from MPA and other health and safety awards, it includes a library of over 400 short videos highlighting these ideas and innovations.
  • Content that enables users to learn from others how to mitigate hazards at their own sites
  • Incident alerts – reports of fatalities, injuries or near misses on other sites.
  • ‘The Fatal 6’ – the six main causes of fatalities within the mineral products industry and resources that explain how the industry is addressing these hazards.
  • Vision Zero – The core values that help organisations and leaders place the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone working within the industry as the priority in everything they do.

The resources have been provided by companies operating within the sector and organisations that support the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone working within it, such as MPA, QNJAC, MPQC, Eurobitume and HSE.

Access to Safequarry is free and the resources are easily searchable via a series of drop-down menus.
