Moving machinery kills or severely injures 800 people in the UK workplace every year. A particular concern is the number of incidents involving conveyors in the minerals industry. In the last four years alone, three workers have been killed whilst working on or around conveyors at MPA members’ sites.
The MPA are running a Safer by Sharing Seminar to challenge the industries performance, give advice on controlling the key risks and provide a range of tools that participants can use on their own sites.
The first Seminar will be on 3rd May at Somerset Earth Science Centre, Shepton Mallet from 1.30 pm – 4.30 pm.
