Tasty Tattershall’s Fruity Crumpet….

Not a new Carry On film, but a healthy way to start the day!!

To start 2017 as they finished 2016, the Team at Tattershall Quarry are continuing with their Saturday morning healthy breakfasts cooked by AQM Roger Chaplin. It only takes 10 minutes to get ready and is a great alternative to a bacon butty or sugar filled cereals:

Fruity Crumpets

  1. Dry fry some fruit (put in frying pan with no oil or fat) try:
  • 3 halved strawberries,
  • 8 blueberries,
  • banana chunks and
  • apple or pear chunks.
  1. Heat until starting to go soft in the pan.
  1. Put two crumpets in the toaster. When toasted (no butter or spread) put on a plate and spoon some of the fruit over both crumpets.
  1. Put a tablespoonful of “No fat Greek yogurt” on top of each fruit covered crumpet and drizzle with one teaspoon of honey.
  1. Repeat for everyone.

Roger comments: “This is very low calorie, some of your five a day, takes only ten minutes to get ready, and is nice and cheap.  Part of Tattershall Quarry’s healthy eating drive – “Looking after yourself and each other – inside and out!!”
