Teams from across Cemex UK took part in the recent Regional Safety Time Out, joining colleagues across EMEA to pause, reflect and reinforce the importance of keeping safety at the heart of everything we do.

From our Northwest Readymix and Asphalt operations to Southam, Warrington Rail depot, Castleford Concrete Plant and our Plant and Field Technician teams, colleagues came together to discuss recent incidents, share learning and have open conversations about how we can all work more safely every day.

A consistent theme across the discussions was the importance of completing effective Take 5 risk assessments, following safe systems of work, speaking up when something does not look right and looking after one another. Teams also discussed site-specific risks, seasonal challenges as we move into autumn and winter, and the dangers of becoming complacent with routine tasks.

The positive engagement seen across our UK businesses highlighted the strength of our Zero4Life culture and our shared commitment to ensuring that everyone goes home safely at the end of every day.
