After conducting reviews throughout the business, it has been identified that there are inconsistencies in our first aid arrangements for sites that are equipped with a defibrillator.
In order to standardise our approach, and to ensure uniformity across our UK sites, please use the new updated guidance which you can find on the UK News download page HERE.
The updated changes relate to:
- inspection of equipment
- replacement of date limited pads
- the use of Aspirin in suspected heart attack situations
For all sites that have a defibrillator, it is important that regular inspection and testing of equipment is carried out and documented together with replacement of pads which have an expiry date. The use of Aspirin is limited to when there is a suspected heart attack and should only be administered under the direction of a medical practitioner. Aspirin should not be stored in a normal First Aid box but kept secure with the Defibrillator equipment.
Please contact your local Health and Safety Advisor if you require further guidance.
