Across Cemex, colleagues recognised World Health & Safety At Work Day in many different ways. Here is a summary of some of the activities that took place:

• Podcast: Let’s talk about EMEA
• H&S EMEA Director, Robert House recorded a podcast – ‘Let’s talk about EMEA’ discussing current Health & Safety initiative and the importance of making Health & Safety our number one priority. You can listen here.

• Richard Kershaw, Technical Manager, was at Aston Concrete plant supporting World Day for Safety and Health at Work. They had good conversations with our Plant and Field Technician about PPE and Safe Systems of work.

• Stephan Plisson, Technical Manager, took the opportunity to have a catch up and VFL with his Technicians, Corey Jones at Cardiff lab, on a customer site with Dave Plumley and with Richard Brindley in Pershore. Stephan took the opportunity to remind the teams about the Take 5 Together – very important as they visit a very different site every day.

• Operations Manager, Andrew Hoskins, spent some time with Silo Services who were installing some new filter units at our Cheltenham Readymix plant. Andrew found everything RAMS supplied were to a high standard and the Plant Manager had completed all the relevant paperwork. Over a coffee break they discussed recent WAH incidents which were received very well by all involved.
