On Sunday night we sent the 2 millionth tonne by rail in 2019 to Stourton depot. Considering this year we have had an unfortunate derailment at Dove Holes, flooding of the dam at nearby Whaley Bridge and a nearly two week outage at Salford (our busiest rail depot) to install new track, it is amazing that this total has been reached only two days later than this point in 2018.

The picture shows our newly liveried loco delivering the new refurbished high capacity wagons into Hope Street last week.

These wagons have increased an average hopper train from 1,550T to 1,850T with Hope Street receiving just shy of 2,000T last week on one service.  A fantastic achievement all round for the Rail Team.
