In 2014 we moved a record 2m tonnes by rail across the UK which resulted in DB Schenker naming a loco ‘Dove Holes’ to recognise the achievement by everyone concerned. This saved in excess of 70,000 Artic Truck movements and comes at a significant CO2 saving and cost benefit to CEMEX UK.

This year (as at the end of June) we are slightly behind last year’s record but have moved over 1m tonnes and are still in with a chance of another record year. With Barrington landfill now receiving its first loads of material from London we now have an average 7 train movements a day that relate to aggregates & landfill.
