To comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on information security, last month CEMEX obtained the ISO 27001 certification in personal data protection for the following business units: CEMEX Spain, CEMEX UK, CEMEX France, CEMEX Poland, CEMEX Croatia, CEMEX Latvia, CEMEX Czech Republic and CEMEX Germany.

To reach this certification many important information security activities were carried out including hard drive encryption of more than 6,000 computers, participation of approximately 3,000 employees in the information security awareness program, and review of key information security processes.

Achieving an accredited certification in ISO 27001 provides an independent, expert assessment that information security at CEMEX is managed in line with international best practices.
