The EXCEED Operational Excellence team are pleased to share Version 2.0 of the flagship sites portal, with a focus case study on Prusków Readymix Plant in Poland.
Director of Operational Excellence for Central Europe Materials, Patryk Czaplewski, explains: Adapting the local sales market to the requirements and expectations of our customers, we are proud to have opened a new Readymix Concrete plant located in Pruszków, near Warsaw.
The newly opened plant is fully automated and equipped with many advanced technologies. One of the most exciting features is the newly installed solar panel array, which covers approximately 20% of the plant’s energy needs. Additional solar panels are also being planned for next year.
All of the water from the plant is collected, recycled and used back for the production. NFC (contactless) technology is used for VFL inspections on the plant and also for the vehicle technical condition, fuel verification and control overloading. Efficiency of the production process is constantly improved through the TMS telematics system.
It is a safe plant with an automatic high pressure washer mixer and a system for climbing into the silo safely, and we produce and deliver the highest quality concrete mixes in a sustainable way. The plant in Pruszków is a great example of employee involvement in the implementation of our Future In Action strategy and, consequently the Flagship Site’s concept.

The interactive “Flagship Site” portal, a joint project of the Materials teams in Western and Central Europe, is an internal tool for employees which offers videos, photos, safety materials, case studies, supplier information and Cemex contacts on key initiatives in nine categories covering our main operational focus areas.
The catalog of key initiatives presented comes from a number of sites in the region, which have been carefully selected to display different sets of initiatives regarding safety and security, CO2 reduction, environment, renewable energies, water management, efficiency, smart loading, agile materials, and digital technologies.
