Matt Saunders, Product Support Advisor, had a terrific day at Aston Villa last week at the RIBA’s ‘BIM Uncovered’ seminar.  There were many excellent insights provided in to the future of digital building design and maintenance as we edge towards Level 2 BIM implementation by April 2016.

Matt commented: “Whilst it would be disingenuous to suggest that the initiative is not without its skeptics and dissenting voices (nobody likes change, least of all architects), there is a discernible inertia and appetite for change within the industry to move to a more inclusive design approach; one that not only contains data which can be useful at inception and in the design, construction and handover phase, as well as over the lifetime of the building.

CEMEX’s involvement at this critical stage demonstrates, as always, that we are well across the implementation of BIM into all centrally funded government contracts by April this year, and ensures we remain at the cutting edge of our industry.”
