Leyburn Quarry is close to achieving a total green solution to its electricity usage. Our landlord has constructed a Solar array on land next to the Quarry and we have agreed access to the National Grid through our substation in return for reduce priced power.

In total 24 panels have been installed and are ready to go. They just need approval to connect to the Grid and that the installation conforms to the required standards and sufficient protection is present for the more unstable supply. We require confirmation from our supplier that we can switch between Grid and Solar supply and we are good to go.

Once complete the Solar array should keep the quarry installation Grid free with possibly a little left over for the Coating Plant. A positive move both for the shareholders and the community.
