The campaign and efforts across our businesses this year to improve our recycling rates and reduce costs has made great progress!

Our average recycling rate in 2014 was just 27%, and we have improved every month in 2015 so far, with May’s result coming in at a fantastic 64%.

Thank you and well done to everyone who is making an effort to use our recycling bins instead of the general waste containers. If we maintained this rate, the savings across CEMEX UK are worth over £200,000 a year, as well as improving our environmental profit and loss account and reducing landfill.

We have set a target to reach 80% by the end of 2015. With current progress and a bit more effort this should be achievable – so please keep improving your RecycleR8!
