This week we reached an impressive milestone as the 2 millionth tonne of material was transported by Rail in 2026, from Dove Holes quarry to Salford.

What makes this achievement so remarkable is that we reached it just six days behind last year’s record pace, despite the significant challenges currently facing the construction market. This success is a testament to the teamwork, dedication and commitment shown right across the business.

A huge thank you goes to our teams at Dove Holes, the Rail Logistics team, our colleagues operating the terminals, and the freight operating companies who work tirelessly to deliver materials safely and efficiently to our customers.

Reaching two million tonnes by Rail is a fantastic achievement that demonstrates the strength of collaboration across our supply chain.
