We’re delighted to recognise the latest winners of our Thank You For Your Effort Awards, which celebrate colleagues and teams who demonstrate exceptional commitment, teamwork and dedication.

Employee Category Winner: Matt Baines

Matt was recognised for his support of the Binley More Sustainable Group, where he created and delivered an engaging and interactive toolbox talk focused on waste management and sustainability. The session explored the waste we generate at Cemex, how it is managed and recycled, and the practical steps we can all take to reduce landfill. Matthew also shared useful ideas that colleagues can apply at home to reduce waste, helping to lower both environmental impact and household costs.

Team Category Winner: Phil Repton and the Salford Team

Phil Repton and the Salford team received their award after demonstrating outstanding customer commitment and teamwork. Following an urgent call from a customer at around 6pm requesting support for the Coal Authority’s work to stabilise a sinkhole in Darwen, Lancashire, Phil quickly coordinated a response. Within an hour, the team had assembled at the depot, opened the site and supported deliveries throughout the evening, working until midnight to help ensure this important emergency work could continue.
