This month Carl highlights Cemex’s Kensworth quarry as a great example of partnership working in action. By working with the RSPB and other conservation organisations, the site demonstrates how our wider biodiversity ambitions can translate into positive action for nature on the ground.
The blog also puts the spotlight on lowland heathland, a rare and valuable UK habitat which has declined by around 80% over the past two centuries. Cemex is helping to conserve this important habitat through heathland restoration at Rugeley and West Heath quarries, supporting a wide variety of plants, insects, reptiles and birds. There’s also some timely advice from the RSPB on feeding garden birds safely this winter, including the importance of keeping feeders clean to help reduce the spread of disease.
