The latest Environmental Briefing is about recent changes to the civil sanction powers that the Environment Agency and Natural England can utilise as an easier option than criminal enforcement when an environmental offence has been committed. In summary, the variable monetary penalty cap (VMP) of £250,000 has been removed and VMPs can now be imposed for breaches of many types of environmental permit.

Many sites capture evidence of communication of environmental briefings for the purposes of showing continued training and awareness as part of the Cemex EMS. The Communication Form can be used for this purpose.
