We are all Looking Out for Swallows

We thought you might like to learn that it’s not just the UK who are looking out for the birds on our sites.  Last week, our Aggregates quarry in Neustrelitz, Germany received recognition for being a “Swallow-friendly house” from a local representative of the NABU (German Association for Nature Conservation).  50 to 60 pairs of rare Sand Martins have been breeding in the quarry this year.

Colleagues from the quarry are very keen to make sure that breeding pairs find a steep face in a part of the quarry that is not actively used.

This is a great recognition for the work of our colleagues in Neustrelitz and an important step in strengthening our relationship with nature conservation partners!

Thank you to Konrad Hoeppner and everyone involved!
