Check Your Site Boundaries

A dozen trespassers broke down boundary fences at one of our Quarries last week to access a lagoon, only leaving the site after the Police attended.  It is important that we ensure measures remain in place to deter trespassers, particularly during the summer months, with records being taken of site boundary inspections and repairs to fences, signs, etc.

Andy Taylor, Health & Safety Director UK, comments: “The Royal Life Saving Society reports that one person drowns every 20 hours in the UK.  During my time in the business I can recall five drownings in lakes and lagoons in our operations, including a 13 year old boy.  It is important that we continue to do all we can to avoid a recurrence of these incidents.”
