Just Don’t Do It – EVER

One of our colleagues, Terence Clair, is a volunteer Special Constable.  He put this thoughtful comment on Yammer to give you yet another reason not to be on your phone in the car.

Here’s what he said: “I have witnessed first-hand the impacts of road traffic collisions (RTCs) from minor injuries, life changing injuries to death. I have over my years of service stopped and dealt with drivers when dealing with the fatal four: excessive speed, using a mobile device, seat belts and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It is hard to believe how many people we still see using mobile phones and as a police officer we are trained to identify when drivers are potentially looking at or using mobile devices, which isn’t difficult when you see the change in driving standard.

The important thing is to get the message out there, I have seen the impacts on families each time someone dies on our roads.  It is devastating.

Please think before you drive and put the mobile device away to remove the temptation so we can all go home to our families safely.”
