Fortunately a Driver for one of our Independent Haulage Contractors avoided injury when the truck mixer he was driving overturned.  Initial indications are that the nearside wheels of his vehicle went into a soft roadside verge as he passed an oncoming van, causing the truck mixer to roll over; the Driver was wearing his seat belt and there were no loose tools, etc. in the cab, thereby minimising the potential for injury.  It is some time since our last truck mixer overturned; however, our competitors have reported suffering several such incidents recently, some of which have led to serious injury.  An investigation into this incident is underway to ensure we learn from it and any relevant points will be shared via a Safety Alert.
